North Tahoe crime logs: Jan. 1-31
Below are select incidents from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office press log for Jan. 1-31.
January 1
• At 12:20 a.m. on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, a male subject was arrested for trespassing after signing a document stating he was not allowed on the property.
• At 12:30 a.m. on Highway 28 and Speckled Avenue in Kings Beach, a suspected DUI was turned over to CHP.
• At 1:15 a.m. on Highway 28 at Lake Forest in Tahoe City, a female was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
• At 4 a.m. on the 5500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay, a male subject was taken into protective custody when it was discovered he was so intoxicated that he could barely walk in his bare feet after losing his shoes and trying to enter a residence that was not his.
• At 8:30 a.m. on the 5200 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay, an unknown suspect broke into a business and took cash from the register.
• At 9:30 a.m. on the 5100 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay, an unknown suspect stole a forklift from a business and took it for a joy ride. The forklift was later discovered at a residence up the street.
• At 10:30 p.m. on the 500 Block of Olive Street in Carnelian Bay, an unknown suspect entered a victim’s unlocked vehicle and took personal items.
January 2
• At 4:45 a.m. on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, a male subject was arrested for stealing a government vehicle for a city in the Bay area. The subject was located sleeping in a lodging facility illegally. When the subject agreed to have his car searched, it was determined the car also did not belong to him.
• At 9:30 a.m. on Highway 89 and Mackinaw Road in Tahoe City, officers took a report for vandalism. Pursuant to a verbal altercation, the victim claimed a pedestrian deliberately struck his vehicle with a cane.
• At 1:30 p.m. on the 1500 Block of West Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect stole a boat trailer from victim’s driveway.
• At 7:45 p.m. on the 50 Block of Bristlecone Street in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect stole $200 worth of firewood from victim’s property.
January 3
• At 5:30 p.m. on the 7800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, an 84-year-old man was arrested for resisting arrest pursuant to report that he might have struck a pedestrian with his vehicle and fled the scene.
• At 10 p.m. on the 1500 Block of Christy Lane in Olympic Valley, a female suspect was arrested for domestic battery. The female became upset during an intimate episode with her husband and started punching and choking him.
January 4
• At 8 a.m. on the 8400 Block of Trout Avenue in Kings Beach, officers took a report for a possible domestic violence.
January 5
• At 1:15 a.m. on the Highway 28 at National Avenue in Tahoe Vista, a male subject was turned over to CHP for suspicion of DUI.
January 6
• At 3 p.m. on the 200 Block of Granite Chief Road in Olympic Valley, officers took a report of vandalism. A female suspect burned victim’s CDs and broke personal items after a bad breakup between the two parties. The female was placed under citizen’s arrest and booked.
January 7
• At 12:30 a.m. on Highway 28 at Sahara Drive in Carnelian Bay, a male subject was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
• At 12:45 a.m. on Highway 28 at Lardin Way in Tahoe City, a male subject was turned over to CHP for suspicion of DUI.
• At 11:45 a.m. on the 900 Block of Northstar Drive in Truckee, an unknown suspect stole two snowboards from the ski valet section of the resort.
• At 8:45 p.m. at Fox Street in Kings Beach, a male subject was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
January 8
• At 3:30 p.m. on the 8400 Block of Rainbow Avenue in Kings Beach, a suspect was found in the attic of a business, fled and later was located and arrested for burglary. The suspect also admitted to committing at least 8 other burglaries.
• At 11:15 p.m. on Trout at Coon Street in Kings Beach, a male subject was turned over to CHP for DUI.
January 9
• At 3:30 p.m. on the 800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect stole 4 Costco gift cards from a business and later used the cards at the store in Nevada.
• At 4:30 p.m. on the 7800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect stole victim’s bicycle while he was shopping at a business.
January 10
• At 12:15 a.m. on the 800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a male subject was contacted regarding a possible altercation and was determined he was unable to care for himself. He was arrested for public intoxication.
• At 12:45 a.m. on the 800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, pursuant to a report of vandalism, a male subject was arrested for possession of concentrated cannabis. The victim also signed a citizen’s arrest for vandalism.
• At 2:30 a.m. on Lily at Muletail Drive in Tahoe City, three male suspects were arrested for carjacking. After receiving a car ride from Truckee, the suspects refused to pay their fare and absconded with the taxi, leaving the driver on the side of the road. The three face felony conspiracy, carjacking and stolen vehicle charges.
January 11
• At 12:15 a.m. on the 3700 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay, a male subject was arrested after being discovered trying to enter victim’s home in a very inebriated state.
January 13
• At 10 p.m. on the Highway 267 at Stewart Way in Kings Beach, a male subject was pulled over for speeding and turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
January 15
• At 4 p.m. on the 900 Block of Brockway Springs in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect spray-painted graffiti on a boulder on victim’s property.
• At 11 p.m. on Highway 89 at Ward Creek Boulevard in Tahoe City, a male subject was pulled over for speeding and was subsequently turned over to CHP for DUI.
• At 11:30 p.m. on Highway 89 at Ward Creek Boulevard, another subject was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
January 16
• At 1 p.m. on the 8200 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, two male subjects were arrested on probation violation when found in possession of a controlled substance.
• At 2:30 p.m. on the 3000 Block Highlands Drive in Tahoe City, two former roommates ensued in a physical altercation over deposit money. The victim desires prosecution.
• At 9:30 p.m. on the 4000 Block of Interlaken Road in Homewood, a male subject was arrested for resisting arrest.
• At 11:30 p.m. on the 8500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, a male subject was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
January 17
• At 10 a.m. on the 8800 Block of Salmon Avenue in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect spray-painted graffiti on a large storage shed.
• At 10 p.m. on the 7800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, a male subject was caught shoplifting a 12-pack of beer and was arrested for burglary.
January 18
• At 3:45 a.m. on the 8100 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, a male subject was arrested for public intoxication after trying to enter victim’s locked apartment.
January 20
• At 1 a.m. on the 8500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, after picking a fight with several patrons and hitting the bouncer, a female suspect was arrested for public intoxication and battery. No prosecution was desired by the battered victim.
• At 1:15 p.m. on Highway 267 at Northstar Drive in Truckee, a male subject was arrested for possession and sale of a controlled substance.
January 23
• At 1:30 a.m. on the 8500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, a male subject was advised to leave a business due to a prior incident, but refused. When being escorted out, the subject became combative and struck the bouncer.
January 24
• At 2 p.m. on the 200 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a report was taken for an annoying and harassing email sent to the victim during the past year.
• At 1:30 p.m. on the 2000 Block of Northstar Drive in Truckee, a male subject was arrested for stealing a ski resort uniform to gain access to the ski lifts.
January 27
• At 3 a.m. on the 8000 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect broke a window in a residence attempting to gain entry.
• At 7:15 p.m. on the 6500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, an unknown suspect stole victim’s jacket with passport in it from a party
January 28
• At 11:30 p.m., a male subject was arrested for grand theft, vandalism and possession of methamphetamine. The suspect was caught stealing over $2000 in copper wire from the railroad.
January 29
• At 7:15 p.m. on the 5000 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay, a male subject was taken into protective custody due to his high level of intoxication.
