TRUCKEE, Calif. — Epicureans are invited to Mountain Table on Friday, Dec. 19 from 6-9 p.m.

This premier dining experience is hosted within the iconic Zephyr Lodge atop Northstar California Resort, where guests savor the five-course menu crafted by Northstar¹s renowned executive chef, Steve Anderson, to pair with select wines by Louis M. Martini.

Special guest Mike Martini, third-generation winemaker, will guide guests through each pairing.

From The Village at Northstar, guests board the Big Springs Gondola and ascend to Zephyr Lodge for an evening of mountaintop atmosphere, live acoustic music and delicious pairings like braised Blue Oaks Ranch lamb with a 2011 Lot 1 Cabernet; wild boar meatball with a 2011 Louis Martini Napa Valley cabernet; pink peppercorn crusted venison with a 2011 Monte Rosso vineyard vintage cabernet. Long table seating imparts the spirit of breaking bread together, toasting friendship and sharing conversation.

“Mountain Table is something everyone should experience,” said Steve Anderson, executive chef at Northstar. “Each dish is prepared with freshly-sourced produce, meats and seasonal ingredients and paired with a wine that offers the ideal complement. Combine the cuisine with the ambiance and scenery of Zephyr Lodge it’s a true experience of a lifetime.”

Mountain Table tickets are $120 and can be purchased at NorthstarCalifornia.com or by dialing 800-GO-NORTH. A portion of dinner ticket proceeds will support Tahoe Food Hub, a nonprofit that educates the Truckee/Tahoe community on the environmental, economic and social health benefits of a strong regional food system.

Tahoe Food Hub also connects North Tahoe restaurants including locations at Northstar with regional farms to buy fresh produce within 100 miles.

In addition to Dec. 19, Northstar will host Mountain Table Fridays, Jan. 16 and 30, Feb. 13 and 27, and March 13 and 27.
