INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — The Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation’s board recently announced the appointment of Alvaro Pascotto as its newest director.

Parasol is governed by an all-volunteer board of directors, selected for demonstrating a high level of commitment to the Tahoe Region and a personal involvement in community engagement.

Pascotto is a private investor as well as a lawyer specializing in private equity and wealth management, tax planning, and entertainment and intellectual property.

“Alvaro will be joining Parasol’s Investment Committee, composed of successful and experienced financial investors,” said David Hardie, Chairman of Parasol’s Board. “These volunteers direct Parasol’s investment philosophy, process and management, bringing a global perspective to the investment of community charitable assets.”

Pascotto has been involved in numerous investments, both in Italy and in the U.S., and he serves as a general partner of various family-related partnerships.

He is a founder of Kairos Partners SGR, an independent, Italian-based asset manager, and served on the Board of Directors of Kairos’ flagship hedge fund.

As an attorney, he is acknowledged as an international expert in business aviation, whose clients include many Fortune 500 companies and well-known entertainment and business personalities.

He was of counsel to Irell & Manella LLP and to Morrison & Foerster LLP. He received his J.D. from the University of Rome, is a member of the State Bar of California, and is also admitted to the Italian Bar.

Pascotto is a member of the Tax Committee of the National Business Aviation Association, Inc. (NBAA), has lectured at a variety of aviation and tax seminars, and publishes articles on a regular basis.

An FAA-licensed pilot himself, he is a co-founder and investor of XOJET, Inc. and serves on its Board of Directors.

“Parasol’s most important responsibility is to be excellent stewards of the charitable funds entrusted to our care,” said Claudia Andersen, CEO of Parasol. “Alvaro’s breadth of financial expertise and savvy will be a strong professional resource on our investment committee.”
