Placer County citizens can sign up for crime alerts
TAHOE CITY, Calif. – Residents who live in the Placer County Sheriff Office’s jurisdiction, including at Lake Tahoe, may now sign up to receive notification of crimes that occurred in their neighborhoods, the department announced recently.
By going to the sheriff office’s website at http://www.placer.ca.govsheriff, and following the link to Crimemapping.com, citizens may sign up to receive alerts to keep abreast of crimes occurring up to a two-mile radius of their homes.
PCSO, through Crimemapping.com, provides public access to crime information for unincorporated Placer County, the city of Colfax and the township of Loomis. It is updated regularly with public information about certain types of crime reports. Search for an address and select the crime types and date range you want to see, or view all crimes in the jurisdiction.
Crimemapping.com also provides a free mobile app for iPhones. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office can also be followed on Facebook at “Placer County Sheriff’s Office,” or on Twitter at @placersheriff.
