Shred the Love fundraiser weekend Friday, Saturday in Truckee

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Boarding for Breast Cancer’s Shred the Love fundraiser will take place Friday and Saturday in Truckee.

B4BC kicks off the weekend celebration with an evening honoring pro snowboarder Megan Pischke Porcheron, who will share her story in the documentary film, “Chasing Sunshine,” a rare and real life look at cancer, the rigors of treatments and the beautiful side of survival.

B4BC is proud to share its documentary film, made possible by The North Face, with the community.

The event starts 7:30 p.m., with the film showing at 8:30, on Friday, April 3, at FiftyFifty Brewing Co., 11197 Brockway Road, Truckee.

A $10 donations gets you in; the fundraiser lasts until midnight. There will be door prizes and a silent auction.

Proceeds benefit B4BC’s “Chasing Sunshine Project,” which provides valuable content and wellness experiences that seek to improve the quality of life of individuals affected by breast cancer as they make the transition from patient to survivor.

On Saturday, April 4, festivities continue with a Shred the Love celebration hosted by Totally Board Shop and Moody’s Bistro Bar in downtown Truckee from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event originally was scheduled to take place at Sugar bowl Resort.

Saturday’s activities in downtown Truckee will include a silent auction, giveaways, yoga, live music by Paige Anderson and The Fearless Kin, and more.
