Sierra Sun-Tahoe Bonanza hire news reporter

TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Sierra Sun and North Lake Tahoe Bonanza have hired a news reporter, Joshua Staab, who began his new role in Truckee and North Tahoe on Monday.

Staab comes to the newspapers after jobs most recently as a digital content supervisor for KTUU, the NBC affiliate in Alaska; and as an editor from 2011-13 at

Staab, a graduate of California State University, Sacramento, with degrees in journalism and film production, has written more than 1,500 news stories, ranging from arts and entertainment features to crime and breaking news., in his career.

California born and raised, Staab has spent more than two-thirds of his life exploring Tahoe-Truckee and the Sierra Nevada. He maintains a number of journalistic interests, including environmental issues, public policy and urban affairs.

He is also an avid snowboarder, climber and hiker, as well as an impassioned filmmaker.

Staab joins Sun-Bonanza reporter Margaret Moran in covering news and community happenings across the greater Truckee-North Tahoe region.
