Special meeting Tuesday on Clear Capital’s future in Truckee

Staff report

TRUCKEE, Calif. — The airport board will hold a special meeting next week to review details of a potential deal to house one of the region’s largest employers.

Clear Capital and the Truckee Tahoe Airport District are discussing the potential construction and lease of a 10,000-square-foot office building on airport property after entering into a non-binding letter of intent last month.

At the 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, meeting in the TTAD board room at 10356 Truckee Airport Road, the board will review preliminary budgets, revenue models, long-term district financial forecasts, site plans and draft lease agreements.

Formal action is tentatively planned for the Jan. 28 and/or Feb. 25 board of directors meetings, according to TTAD.

For the past few years, Clear Capital has been searching for office space in anticipation of its lease at 10875 Pioneer Trail in Truckee expiring in August 2016.

In November, the company announced it would relocate about 125 employees from Truckee to a downtown Reno office in March 2015.

Kevin Marshall, president of Clear Capital, has repeatedly said in past interviews he would like to maintain a Truckee office.
