Squaw Valley’s Timy Dutton, 27, dies in skydiving accident

OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. — Squaw Valley professional skier Timy Dutton died Tuesday in a skydiving accident, according to various media reports.

San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Les Garcia said Dutton, 27, collided with another man at about 1:30 p.m. during a parachuting trip at the Parachute Center in Acampo, Calif., at the Lodi Airport.

According to the Associated Press, Dutton, a native of Squaw Valley, was knocked unconscious by the impact and was unable to open his chute.

The surviving parachutist suffered minor leg injuries, Garcia said.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.

According to various reports, Dutton and the other man, also from the Tahoe area, were experienced skydivers.
