Tahoe artists open studios for second ARTour weekend
Get ready for the second weekend of North Tahoe Arts’ 21st annual ARTour open studio tour.
Twenty-eight artists in the North Tahoe/Truckee area will open their studios to the public again on July 18-20. It’s a chance to get a “behind the scenes” look at how art is created, to ask questions and to watch demonstrations.
From watercolors, pastels, oils and acrylics, glass art and woodworking, to custom jewelry, photography, printmaking, ceramics and mixed media — there’s something for everyone.
Participating studios are located along the shores of Lake Tahoe from Incline Village to Kings Beach, through Tahoe City and out to the West Shore. More studios are just a quick drive away in Truckee.
Studios range from intimate painting alcoves to production woodworking shops and art glass studios filled with kilns, to museum-style galleries. Every artist creates a workspace to fit their personality and their creative needs.
Works from all ARTour artists are on display through Aug. 4 at the North Tahoe Arts Center galleries, 380 North Lake Blvd., Tahoe City.
Free printed tour guides are available at many local art galleries and retailers throughout the region and at North Tahoe Arts. Tour guides and detailed information about participating artists are also available on NTA’s website.
ARTour is sponsored by North Tahoe Arts, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the arts in the North Tahoe-Truckee communities through exposure, education and participation.
