Tahoe golf course ranked No. 19 in Golf Advisors’ Top 50

Staff report

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Golf Advisor recently released its list of the Top 50 U.S. Golf Courses in 2014, and the Incline Village Championship Course was rated No. 19.

“The Championship Course is proud to accept this award, as the courses listed in the Top 50 seem to be the ones that exceeded the paying golfer’s expectations,” according to an IVGID press release. “The list shows that although a course’s design or history is important, a truly great golf course is a mix of design, conditions, and service- all at a price point that keeps golfers coming back for more.”

According to IVGID, Golf Advisor accepted more than 125,000 ratings that came from a range of daily fee golfers, and “not industry types and design aficionados.”

Golf Advisor took the average of each course’s total overall score in 2014. The par-72 Championship Course, which is rated 4.6 out of 5 stars on Golf Advisor, was the only course named in the Top 50 in the Reno-Tahoe area.
