Tahoe League for Charity features local speakers

TAHOE CITY, Calif. — On Jan. 6, the Tahoe League for Charity monthly meeting featured Rebecca Phipps, the new executive director of the North Lake Tahoe Historical Society.

Rebecca shared some of her ideas and dreams for the society as well as summer events and activities for the Gatekeeper’s Museum. The museum is open Wednesday through Monday and is located on West Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, by Fanny Bridge.

The February meeting will be held on the 10th and will feature Roger Huff, noted author and public speaker, who will entertain with his latest collection of stories about towns along the Truckee River.

Roger, a very entertaining speaker, is the author of cookbooks, factual sea stories and fictional novels as well as fascinating tales of local legends on the Truckee.

The meeting is at Jake’s on the Lake, board meeting at 10 a.m. and general meeting and lunch at 11:30 a.m., cost is $17.50 per person.
