TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation (TMR Foundation) has announced support of 26 Truckee-Tahoe area nonprofit organizations/programs through its 2014 grant cycle.
These partnering organizations exemplify Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation’s dedication to improve the community’s quality of life, with a special focus on local youth, environmental, and social/cultural programs.
This year TMR Foundation received more than 38 grant applications. One of the Foundation’s top grants was awarded to the Truckee Tahoe Watershed Council, in support of their stream and meadow restoration programs in the area.
“We are thankful to receive this generous support,” said Executive Director Lisa Wallace. “These funds will help us reach our goal of 50 priority stream restoration projects over the next decade, reducing hundreds of tons of soil erosion, restoring 3,000 feet of stream banks and rejuvenating hundreds of acres of meadow.”
