Teen concert series to kick off with Scott Collins of Souljuvenation

TRUCKEE, Calif. — An all ages concert and open mic is being hosted at CoffeeBar and the Family Resource Center of Truckee on Saturday, Jan. 11, 5-9 p.m.

Jackie McKinney and Jen Koch of the FRCoT spent time with high school students during the Challenge Days in November, a program that provides youth and their communities with experiential programs to demonstrate the possibility of love and connection through the celebration of diversity, truth, and full expression, (www.challengeday.org).

The duo realized more teen activities in Truckee were desperately needed. And thus, a new “Teen Concert Series” idea snowballed.

The Jan. 11 event at CoffeeBar in downtown Truckee will be the first one of a concert series hosted by the FRCoT.

The target audience is middle school and high school students, but all ages are welcome.

Teens, go enjoy live music by Scott Collins of Souljuvenation out of Reno, Nev., have some coffee, tea and good food, and hit the open mic if you’re feeling brave.

Parents, you are indeed invited, however, encouraged to stay home!
