‘The Way’ showing Sunday at Center for Spiritual Living
March 19, 2015
This month's inspirational cinema feature is "The Way," showing from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at the Center for Spiritual Living Tahoe-Truckee at 700 North Lake Blvd., Tahoe City, above the marina.
Starring Martin Sheen and directed by his son, Emilio Estevez, The Way is set on the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage path beginning in the Pyrenees in France covering mountain terrain to nearly to the coast of Spain.
People from all over the world come to walk the 1,000 kilometers on the way of the saints. Though the movie begins on the saddest note of a father losing his son, it turns around quickly into a soulful journey of the father, punctuated frequently by clever comedy.
It is a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends and the challenges we face. The father discovers the difference between "the life we live and the life we choose."
A short discussion follows the movie. Gratitude donations accepted. For more information, call 530-581-5117.
Founded in 1986, the Center for Spiritual Living Tahoe-Truckee is a spiritual community dedicated to empowering individuals to discover an inner power that has the ability to transform their lives and make the world a better place.
