The Truckee Host Lions Club is happy to support the dynamic team of five eighth-graders known as The Rolling Bots from Sierra Expeditionary Learning School.

They will represent the Northern Nevada League at LegoLand this May at the international competitions for kids from ages 9-14 of The First Lego League.

This robotic competition revolves around designing the robot to complete certain tasks that are given as a challenge.

After competing against 24 teams in Carson City, they advanced to the regional championships held at UNR and now are on their way to compete against 76 teams from all over the USA, Guam, Brazil and Japan.

The team needs over $5,000 for their trip and would appreciate any donation. They have spent weekends shoveling snow to help fund their trip. Please contact Marcy Thompson at 530-286-1191 if you would like to help.

The Truckee Host Lions Club is focused in helping local youth groups, as well as the optical needs for all residents in this area.

All the monies raised go back into the community. If you are interested in working with a fun group to raise funds for your community, check out truckeelions.com for the next meeting.
