Truckee Police logs, March 25-April 3
Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log from March 25 through April 3.
A suspect was contacted after the father called in and said he had just gotten a call from her and she was screaming, then the phone disconnected. Officers made contact with the suspect at her residence on Pioneer Trail and she was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence.
Victim reported a residential home he is renovating had been burglarized. The burglary occurred on Evensham Place.
A reporting party picked up his medication at the downtown post office, but left his prescription on the top of the post office box. The reporting party returned to the post office to retrieve the prescription, but the prescription was already gone.
A subject reported her wallet was lost. Last she remembered it was on top of her car. Items from the wallet were found along Glenshire Drive. The actual wallet and the driver license have not been found.
A resident of West Rive Street recognized a wanted person and notified Truckee Police. Truckee Police responded and located the subject hiding in a storage area of the mobile home park. The subject was taken into custody for the outstanding warrants. During a search incident to the arrest, a small crystal like substance was located on the subject. He was also booked on drug charges.
A student made suicidal comments while at school. Officers followed up and found the threats to be unsubstantiated.
Officers took a report of single-vehicle collision with minor injuries. The driver was found to be DUI and was arrested.
A juvenile was caught stealing cigarette lighters from a store on Donner Pass Road. The juvenile was cited and released to parents.
Known suspect fraudulently returned two items at a store on Donner Pass Road in exchange for a gift card. The suspect was arrested and booked in Truckee Jail.
Officers reported theft of property out of a vehicle on Deerfield Drive.
Police officers responded to a physical altercation between boyfriend and girlfriend, which resulted in corporal injury to the male. Upon officer’s arrival, the girlfriend was determined to be the dominant aggressor. She was arrested. The incident occurred on Ski Slope Way.
Unreported stolen vehicle was recovered.
Officers took a report of missing tools and stereo out of a vehicle parked on Regency Circle.
A reporting party filed a report for a lost iPhone.
Victim reported being assaulted by her boyfriend on Highway 89 South. The boyfriend then forcefully stole the victim`s purse and fled on foot. The subject was located and arrested.
A subject was caught stealing merchandise by loss prevention officer at a local business on Donner Pass Road. The subject was cited and released for shoplifting.
Victim reported that unknown suspect broke his power utility breaker box and turned off the electricity to his residence. The incident occurred on Rolands Way.
A victim of vandalism called the police to file a report. Apparently during the early morning hours, an unknown suspect removed the locking mechanism from the main power box of the residence located on Glenshire Drive. After removing the lock, the unknown person turned the main power breaker off. The power was later restored by the home owner and the vandalism discovered.
The bartender of a local bar on Donner Pass Road was assaulted after trying to break up an argument between too persons. The bartender did not wish prosecution; the report was taken for documentation only.
A subject was causing disturbance at a downtown bar. The subject was intoxicated and arrested for drunk in public.
Truckee Police officers responded to a domestic altercation on Estates Drive. Upon contacting the involved parties the male adult (boyfriend) ran from the police. The boyfriend was apprehended by the police after a brief foot chase. The boyfriend was arrested as the primary aggressor in the domestic violence and for resisting, obstructing and delaying the officer in his performances of his duties.
A clerk at a local gas station found lost wallet. The wallet was later returned to its owner.
An unknown suspect removed two bicycles from a storage building behind a residence on Somerset Drive.
One vehicle struck another vehicle in a parking lot on Donner Pass Road. The suspect vehicle fled the scene after seeing the damage it caused to the other vehicle. Patrons attempted to stop the vehicle, but it was unsuccessful.
An unknown subject pulled the mail out of the mailbox and dumped on the ground. The unknown suspect egged the inside of the mailbox, which was located on Somerset Drive.
