INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Richard Mares was recently accepted to the position of site administrator for Incline Elementary School, the Washoe County School District announced this week.

Originally from Southern California, Mares has spent the last nine years with WCSD, serving as an English Language Learning teacher; a fourth-grade and sixth-grade teacher; and most recently as dean of students at Roger Corbett Elementary School.

According to the district, Mares, bilingual in English and Spanish, comes to IES with a strong focus on instructional leadership.

“He understands the importance of high-quality instruction, and is dedicated to helping all teachers and children reach their potential,” area Superintendent JoEtta Gonzales said in a statement.

Mares will serve under Leslie Hermann, who recently was appointed K-12 administrator for Incline Elementary, Middle and High schools. Sharon Kennedy is site administrator at IMS, while Mark Zimmerman holds the role at IHS.
