Man dies at Boca

Authorities are investigating the death of a man near Boca Reservoir Tuesday.

Johnny Dean Britt, 51, of Reno, was on Stampede Meadows Road, apparently exercising his dog when his truck got stuck in the snow on an unplowed stretch of road.

“He got stuck just past Boca, and it appears he was making a call to get help when he collapsed in the road,” said Sgt. Jeff Pettitt with Nevada County Sheriff’s.

A passerby discovered Britt around 11 a.m. Tuesday, started CPR and called 911, Pettitt said. Medical personnel were unable to revive Britt. An autopsy has not been completed.

“He had complained of chest pain in the past,” Pettitt said. “But anything at this point is just speculation.”
