A true cowboy, Robert C. McDonnell died Dec. 20, 2007, at the age of 51.

Rob was born April 20, 1956, in El Paso, Texas. He was a hard-working man who traveled, building a little piece of America, as he always said, between gold mills, geothermal and power plants. He lived in Truckee for 18 years, then moved to Vacaville to work in refineries.

Rob is survived by his two boys, Clayton and Jared McDonnell; his brother, Don McDonnell and sister-in-law, Carol; his sister, Liz McDonnell; and his brother, George Corder and sister-in-law, Aurora.

Rob had such a big heart and was always there to lend a helping hand. Those whose lives he touched will be forever blessed.

A funeral was performed at the Masonic Lodge in Vallejo, where Rob was a 3rd degree Mason.

There will be a celebration of Rob’s life at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at the Glenshire Clubhouse.

In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been set up for the boys at Plumas Bank.
