Measure C ballot trapping on Friday

Beginning Friday, all voted Measure C ballots mailed through Truckee-area Post Offices will be held at those post offices until Election Day on Sept. 25.

Measure C is a mail-only ballot asking registered voters in the Tahoe Forest Hospital District to decide a $98.5 million bond proposal to upgrade hospital facilities and meet new mandatory seismic standards.

The process is known as ballot trapping, and it ensures that the elections office receives voted ballots in time for them to be counted for the Measure C election, according to the Nevada County Elections Office.

Voted ballots can also be dropped off between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Town of Truckee’s clerk’s office. Ballots will be accepted until Sept. 25. The office is located at 10183 Truckee Airport Road.

Elections officials said that if voters have not received ballots, they can obtain one by appearing in person at the Nevada County Elections Office. The office was unable to mail election materials after yesterday.

Results for the Measure C election will be made available on Tuesday, Sept. 25, shortly after 8 p.m. Find the results on the Nevada County Elections website at
