Meeting Tuesday on $200K for Truckee arts center

Staff report

TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District’s arts subcommittee will host a public meeting at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 20, regarding retrofitting and enhancing the Community Arts Center.

In May, the TDRPD board of directors voted to use $200,000 on the center at 10046 Church Street. Since, two public meetings have been held to hear feedback on potential changes.

Suggested upgrades include the sound system, lighting system, blackout curtains, design/ambiance and house lighting, among others. No action was taken at either meeting, said Steve Randall, TDRPD general manager.

At Tuesday’s meeting at the arts center, the subcommittee will lead discussion and possibly take action regarding next steps.
