Andrew “Drew” James Entin, 41,of Truckee, Calif., graduated from this life on March 3, 2009, of injuries sustained during avalanche control work at Squaw Valley.

Andrew was born on Sept. 25, 1967, in Wilmington, Del., and grew up in Needham, Mass. Andrew was raising by his loving parents, Judy and Robert Entin.

Andrew spent his life along side his doting sister, Jodi Entin Davis. Andrew started a new journey with his loving wife Shanna Goodman Entin on July 29, 2003. Andrew did everything with passion and zest for life and especially outdoors. His passion for skiing and fishing came through in everything he did. Andrew had a strong connection to his family and loved his life to the fullest. Andrew is remembered as a humble, quiet guy with a great sense of humor.

Andrew is survived by: his loving wife, Shanna; parents, Judy and Robert Entin; sister, Jodi Entin Davis; brother-in-law, Kyle Davis; nephews, Owen Robert and Tyler Joseph; aunts, Tomi Izuno and Elizabeth Takao; uncles, Lloyd Takao and Gene Izuno;

many cousins; loving in-laws, Robert Goodman and Sharon Schwind; sister-in-laws, Tara Goodman and Loa Kirkbride Goodman; brother in-laws, Marc Goodman and Dennis Watson; in-laws, Jeff “Crash” and Rachel Davis and family; Glenn Davis and Brian Davis and family; his brothers and sisters of the Squaw Valley Ski Patrol; and many, many friends.

Andrew is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Sarah and Boris Entin and maternal grandparents Mutsu and James Takao.

A celebration of Andrew’s life will be held on Sunday, March 8, from 4-7 p.m. at Coyote Moon Golf Course located at 10685 Northwoods Drive. We encourage everyone to carpool if at all possible.

Donations can be made in Andrew’s memory to Squaw Valley Ski Patrol Avalanche Education Fund. Please mail to Squaw Valley Ski Corp, Attn: Ski Patrol, PO Box 2007, Olympic Valley, CA, 96146. Also, donations can be made to Plumas Bank to help the family, checks payable to Shanna Entin in memory of Andrew Entin.
