Michael McDonald, America to perform with Natalie Cole at Lake Tahoe Music Fest

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; America is coming to Tahoe this summer and#8212; the band, that is. And theyand#8217;re bringing and#8220;A Horse With No Name.and#8221;

The Lake Tahoe Music Festivaland#8217;s first performance July 22 will feature the band as part of its 40th anniversary tour. The festival also announced that Michael McDonald will perform Aug. 7, the last evening of the event. They joins already announced artist Natalie Cole, who will perform Aug. 5.

The festival will kick off with a gala July 15 with performances Thursdays and Saturdays, July 22-Aug. 7.

Americaand#8217;s performance, the last in its worldwide tour, will be at West End Beach at Donner Lake. Tickets, on sale Monday, cost $38.75 for general admission and $50.75 preferred. The band is famous for songs and#8220;A Horse with No Name,and#8221; and#8220;Sister Golden Hair,and#8221; and#8220;I Need You,and#8221; and#8220;Ventura Highwayand#8221; and and#8220;Tin Man.and#8221;

McDonald, a rock-pop singer who has recorded as a member of The Doobie Brothers, will perform at Northstar-at-Tahoe, with tickets costing $37 for general admission and $60 preferred. Tickets go on sale April 1. McDonald is known for singles including and#8220;I Keep Forgetting,and#8221; and#8220;On My Ownand#8221; and the Grammy-award winning and#8220;I Mo B There.and#8221; His most recent album is 2008and#8217;s and#8220;Soul Speak.and#8221;

Previous artists for the festival have included Huey Lewis and the News, Boz Scaggs, Kenny Loggins and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
