Mild weather in the forecast

TAHOE BASIN “-After some possible snow or rain showers tonight, the weather will most likely stay mild through upcoming weeks, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.

“We’re not looking at any active weather for the next couple of weeks,” said Jessica Kielhorn with the NWS.

A 40 percent chance of rain and snow is predicted for today along with a high near 45 degrees. Tonight the chance of snow drops to 20 percent before 10 p.m.

The low is predicted at 29 degrees.

Kielhorn said this weather is the extension of a mild fall.

“It has been much warmer than usual,” she said. “High pressure systems have been keeping us warm and dry.”

Throughout Thanksgiving weekend, temperatures are expected to stay in the mid-40s and skies should be mostly sunny, according to the National Weather Service.
