Missing horse rider found Saturday near Tahoe Donner

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; A Reno woman reported missing Friday was found Saturday in the Euer Valley near Tahoe Donner.

Patricia Uccio, 46, went missing Friday evening on horseback, according to the group she was camping with in the Euer Valley. The Nevada County Sheriffand#8217;s Office started a search and rescue effort with about 30 volunteers from Nevada City and Truckee, working on foot and ATV, with aerial assistance from a California Highway Patrol helicopter.

The search team found Uccio at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday in a cabin she found. She said her horse had lost footing at about 4 p.m. Friday and she fell off, hitting her head and injuring her knee. She spent the night in the woods, she said, and found the cabin in the morning.

Uccio was treated and released on the scene by medical staff.

Mutual aide came from Butte, El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Sierra, Yolo and Yuba counties on Saturday morning when Uccio was located.
