Missing Truckee man may have been spotted in Davis
A called-in tip may place missing a missing Truckee man, Jesus Lopez Gayton, in Davis.
Gayton, 48, was reported missing Saturday by his family. Truckee Police, Nevada County Sheriff’s and California Highway Patrol have been conducting search efforts, using a helicopter and personnel on foot in the area, concentrating on western Truckee near Cold Creek and Donner Memorial State Park.
“The family stated he likes to walk in those areas on day hikes,” said Sgt. Tim Hargrove of Truckee Police. “So we’ve been trying to eliminate those areas.”
But after seeing Gayton’s photo on the news, a member of the public reported possibly seeing him in the central valley town of Davis, at a farmer’s market event, Hargrove said.
“We’ve been in contact with the authorities in Davis and have been trying to locate him in that area,” Hargrove said.
Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Jesus Lopez Gayton is asked to contact the Truckee Police Department at (530) 550-2330.
