More dry, windy weather expected

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE ” Expect dry, windy weather but mainly sunny conditions today. Red flag warnings may be issued for the extremely dry conditions expected over the next several days, as another rather strong northeast Pacific low moves into the Pacific northwest and increases our winds in the Eastern Sierra.

Under sunny skies and breezy conditions, highs will rise into the upper 70s to lower 80s, with mid to upper 80s around Markleeville.

Winds will pick up from the southwest in the 15 to 25 mph range, with gusts to 30 mph at lake level and stronger winds at higher elevations.

Clear skies, dry air and lighter winds will allow temperatures to fall into the 40s with some lower 50s in the typically warmer areas on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe.
