Mortenson, Robert Raymond

Robert Raymond Mortenson, born Jan. 6, 1935, in South Amboy, New Jersey, passed away on Aug. 10, 2007, at his home in Lake Tahoe, California.

Robert, or “Bob,” is survived by his loving wife Carol; daughter Tina Mortenson of Sacramento; son Jeff Mortenson and wife Lisa of Leucadia, Calif.; daughter Susie Croke, her husband Daniel Croke and grandson Dane of Carlsbad, Calif. He was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn, his father Raymond, and his brother Bill.

Bob served in the United States Navy where he achieved the rank of lieutenant. He then worked for the city of Santa Clara, Calif., as a civil engineer and finished his 33-year career with the city as the Director of Public Works. He was an active member of the Rotary Club of Tahoe City, Rotary Yacht Club, as well as many other civic organizations. He also enjoyed volunteering his time for various community activities. He enjoyed snow skiing, hiking, boating and simply having a good time with his many good friends. His enthusiasm and exuberance for life as well as his love for his family and friends will not be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers please make any donations to the American Heart Association in the name of Robert R. Mortenson.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Tahoe City, 905 West Lake Blvd.
