Mostly cloudy and windy today with a few rain showers possible

A moist Pacific jet stream moving into Northern California will bring cloudy and windy conditions to the Lake Tahoe area today.
Strong southwest winds around 15 to 30 mph has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Lake Wind Advisory from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. today. Some wind gusts over 40 mph are expected during the afternoon generating 3 to 4 foot waves on the north and east shores of the lake.
Highs today are forecast to reach the lower to mid 60s under cloudy skies with a chance of seeing some light rain showers mainly in the upper elevations and north of I80. Lows tonight are projected to drop into the upper 30s to lower 40s around the lake kept up by winds and clouds overnight.
Partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures are expected on Wednesday as a cold front pushes across the area. Highs on Wednesday are forecast to reach the upper 50s to lower 60s with north to northwest winds 10 to 20 mph.
Hold on because sunny skies and near seasonal temperatures will return to the area Thursday and Friday.
