Motorcyclist killed near Kingvale

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Monday on Donner Summit, according to the California Highway Patrol.Terry Spink, 51, of Rough and Ready was killed on Donner Pass Road about 12:05 p.m., according to Officer Steve Skeen of the Truckee California Highway Patrol office. Skeen said Spink was riding eastbound and following a garbage truck, when the truck braked to turn into the driveway of the Kingvale Lodge.The motorcyclist applied his brakes and was ejected as he and his 2007 Harley Davidson slid underneath the truck, according to a California Highway Patrol report. Its undergoing investigation, Skeen said. Im sure well find somebody did something wrong.Area paramedics initiated CPR at the scene and Spink was transported by air ambulance to Renown Medical Center in Reno. He was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:40 p.m., the report said.Skeen said he was unsure if there were any witnesses to the accident. Sun news service and Sun staff reports
