Natalie Cole to perform at Lake Tahoe Music Festival

LAKE TAHOE, Calif. andamp;#8212; The Lake Tahoe Music Festivalandamp;#8217;s 28th season will be andamp;#8220;Unforgettable.andamp;#8221;Natalie Cole is the first performer announced for the North Shore festival. The nine-time Grammy award winner will perform Aug. 5 mid-mountain at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort.The festival will kick off with a gala July 15 with performances Thursdays and Saturdays, July 22-Aug. 7. General admission tickets for the Cole show are $37.50 with preferred tickets costing $63. They go on sale March 15. Music Festival CEO Lisa Kreuger said she thinks the festival has momentum after a successful 2009 season, when three of the five concerts sold out. Coleandamp;#8217;s performance, Kreuger said, should be part of andamp;#8220;an amazing lineup coming down the pipe.andamp;#8221;andamp;#8220;Weandamp;#8217;re super excited about whatandamp;#8217;s coming up,andamp;#8221; she said.Known for her andamp;#8220;Unforgettableandamp;#8221; duet with father, Nat andamp;#8220;Kingandamp;#8221; Cole, she released andamp;#8220;Still Unforgettableandamp;#8221; in 2008 and andamp;#8220;Letandamp;#8217;s Talk About Loveandamp;#8221; in 2009. Combining Randamp;B, jazz and pop sounds, Cole will be accompanied by a 13-piece big band in her Tahoe performance. She has several popular singles, including andamp;#8220;This Will Be (An Everlasting Love),andamp;#8221; andamp;#8220;Inseparable,andamp;#8221; andamp;#8220;Our Love,andamp;#8221; andamp;#8220;Iandamp;#8217;ve Got Love On My Mind,andamp;#8221; andamp;#8220;Pink Cadillacandamp;#8221; and andamp;#8220;Miss You Like Crazy.andamp;#8221;

Kreuger said two more artists will be announced March 4, and concerts will range in genre from rock and jazz to orchestral and Broadway. andamp;#8220;Weandamp;#8217;re known for the classics andamp;#8212; classic rock, classic jazz, orchestra,andamp;#8221; she said.Tickets, ranging from $25 to $63, can be purchased online at http://www.TahoeMusic.org , or by phone at (530) 583-3101 or at the Music Festival office, located at 10775 Pioneer Trail, Suite 210 in Truckee Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.Previous artists for the festival have included Huey Lewis and the News, Boz Scaggs, Kenny Loggins and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.andamp;#8220;Weandamp;#8217;ve had some high-end names up here,andamp;#8221; Kreuger said. andamp;#8220;Many of them now come up here and vacation.andamp;#8221;
