Nevada County tourism: Public workshops slated for next week in Grass Valley, Truckee

TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; Nevada County will hold two public countywide tourism workshops on Wednesday, Sept. 1. The first workshop will be hosted at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel andamp; Suites Grass Valley Gold Miners Inn in Grass Valley, from 9 to 11 a.m., and the second will be at the Tahoe Truckee Hampton Inn andamp; Suites in Truckee from 3 to 5 p.m.According to a press release from Switchback Public Relations andamp; Marketing, the workshops are meant to solicit information and feedback from key stakeholders, community members and tourism industry professionals on current tourism efforts and provide marketing ideas and input.andamp;#8220;The countywide tourism workshops will mark the start to the Nevada Countyandamp;#8217;s tourism marketing efforts for the next year, with the goal of building infrastructure to further promote tourism in Nevada County,andamp;#8221; the press release states.Nevada County supervisors have earmarked $110,000 for tourism for fiscal year 2010-11, compared with a $90,000 contract with Switchback Public Relations from the 2009-10 budget.RSVPs for Wednesdayandamp;#8217;s meetings are appreciated but not required.
