New board directors join West Shore business association

West Shore business owners elected a new board of directors Thursday, bringing two new faces to the association board.

Marynell Hartnett and Rick Brown now join president Gary Chaney, vice president Ralph Silverman and secretary/treasurer Rob Weston, comprising the new board for the West Shore Association.

Weston was re-elected Thrusday to another three-year term.

Hartnett works with Tahoe Real Estate Group in Homewood and Brown is the vice president of JMA Ventures, the development company that owns Homewood Mountain Resort.

The West Shore Association started years ago but recently re-established itself as the organization representing businesses on Tahoe’s “magical West Shore.” They host monthly meeting to report on marketing, membership, the Web site and events and discuss issues important to the area.

But the Web site has come a long way, said chair John Walker, with nearly 2,000 visits tracked in July.

Currently the group has about 50 members, only half which are paid up at this time.
