New reporter at Sierra Sun
The Sierra Sun is welcoming a new general assignment reporter to its staff. Amanda Butler began work with the Sun March 13.
Butler, 22, is a native of Dallas, Texas, and a graduate of Louisiana State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.
She served as an intern with television stations WBRZ-TV of Baton Rouge, La., and WFAA-TV of Dallas. She also was a reporter for the Tiger Weekly at Louisiana State University.
Butler moved to Truckee in January and has been employed with Northstar-at-Tahoe. Her hobbies include skiing, running, water skiing and reading.
At the Sierra Sun, Butler will be covering the education, hospital, features, police and fire beats, among other duties.
