No one hurt after fire damages Truckee auto parts store

Staff report

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Authorities are investigating a Friday fire that destroyed a portion of the O’Reilly Auto Parts store in the Truckee Crossroads shopping center, officials said.

According to a Monday statement from the Truckee Fire Protection District, residents called 911 at about 6 p.m. Friday to report the fire at the store located at 11359 Deerfield Drive, in the shopping center where Save Mart is located.

Crews from Truckee and the Squaw Valley Fire Department “arrived to find smoke and fire on the roof.”

“They were (able) to knock the fire down quickly, but had to cut holes in the roof to put out some remaining stubborn fire,” according to the statement.
