No one hurt in minor fire Monday in downtown Truckee

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Truckee Fire Department received a call Monday afternoon for a possible electric fire in Historic Downtown Truckee.

A small fire had broke out on the second floor of the Sierra Tavern building, said Battalion Chief Greg Burch. The building was evacuated, and crews worked the second floor to ensure the fire didn’t spread.

No one was hurt. Businesses to either side, Dragonfly Restaurant and the Tourist Club, were evacuated, and the Downtown area was closed to car traffic.



As of Monday afternoon, the fire was and#8220;mopped up,and#8221; Burch said, and the area was expected to open shortly.

Responding agencies included the Truckee Fire Department, Cal Fire, Truckee Police Department, Squaw Valley Fire Department and Northstar Fire Department. Eight engines, three ambulances and 32 people responded, Burch said.
