Norma Jeanne Liesch McMillan Obituary

Norma Jeanne Liesch McMillan, a 27-year resident of Truckee, Calif. passed away peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 2, 2008 in Reno, Nev.

Norma was born June 7, 1924 in St. Paul, Minn. to Charles and Grace McLean Liesch. As the youngest and only daughter, Norma had four big brothers to watch out for her; Harold, Randall, Wesley and Grant.

After attending USC where she played bass drum for the famous USC marching band and then graduating from University of Minnesota, Norma married the love of her life, Warren Clark McMillan, on Feb. 15, 1948. Warren was the son of Hugh and Virginia Kathan McMillan of San Fernando, Calif.

After raising a family in Los Angles they retired and moved to Truckee in 1981 where they became active in the Church of the Mountains. In 1984 Norma wrote the book to document the history of the United Methodist Church of Truckee also known as The Church of the Mountains.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband Warren. She is survived by her three sons Thomas Allen, Steven Glen and David Warren, as well as four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A public memorial service is being held at the Church of the Mountains in Truckee on Dec. 13 at 10 a.m.
