The Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe is looking for dedicated volunteers for our new reading program that began in January 2009, Tahoe Reads! This project aims to increase literacy acquisition skills in kindergartners and first graders through small group and one-on-one reading time. Volunteers are asked to commit one hour a week from January until May to read individually or in small group settings with kindergartners or first graders. Morning and afternoon slots are available. Please contact Laura Buckner at 546-4324 if you are interested in helping our community read. This project is sponsored by the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation.
