North Shore utility seeks new manager

When General Manager Steve Rogers left the North Tahoe Public Utility District last week to pursue career opportunities in Napa Valley, he left a gaping hole in the utilitys operations.Now, district officials are stepping up to the plate to assume wide-ranging duties that Rogers formerly oversaw.In his stead, Assistant General Manager Lee Schegg and Chief Financial Officer Larry Marple are taking the reins until a recruiting firm hires a new chief executive officer.Until we have been told otherwise, [Schegg] will be assuming most of those general manager duties, Marple said. And to the extent that I can help with my authority, I will be doing that. Obviously, its a big job.Schegg said hes focused on keeping staff on track with board directions and policies through the recruiting and hiring process.The district hired the recruiting firm Peckham & McKenney the same firm that recruited Rogers to seek out potential candidates.Read more in Thursday’s Sierra Sun.
