North Tahoe crime logs, May 1-31

Below are select incidents from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office press log for May 1-12.

May 1

At 9 a.m. on Stateline between California and Nevada, a male subject was caught mailing marijuana through USPS. The suspect was charged with two felony drug counts.

At 4 p.m. in Tahoe Vista’s Regional Park, a female pulled another female out of her vehicle and beat her up. The incident started over an argument on Facebook months earlier. No prosecution desired.

May 2

At 11 a.m. on the 200 Block of Squaw Peak Way in Olympic Valley, an unknown suspect removed victim’s sleeping bag from hotel room.

May 3

At 2 a.m. on 200 Block of Fairway in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect removed copper cable from a commercial yard.

May 4

At 2:30 p.m. four subjects were cited and released for purchasing and furnishing alcohol to minors at three separate locations in Kings Beach and Olympic Valley.

May 6

At 12 a.m. on Highway 28 in Carnelian Bay, after being pulled over for an inoperable headlight, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspicion of DUI.

At 1 a.m. on Highway 89 at Highway 28 in Tahoe City, a female was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

At 4 p.m. on the 900 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a report was taken for alleged theft from a locker. $800 in cash was taken.

May 7

At 11 p.m. on the 200 Block of Winding Creek in Olympic Valley, a male subject brandished a knife during a heated argument over a dog. No arrest was made.

At 12:30 p.m. on the 100 Block of River Road in Tahoe City, a male subject was caught in the act of stealing a cart full of groceries. The subject was charged with burglary.

May 8

At 12 a.m. on the 200 Block of Pino Grande in Tahoe Vista, a female was taken into protective custody after engaging in a verbal argument with her roommate.

May 9

At 11 a.m. on the 8300 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, two males ensued in a physical altercation; the victim desired prosecution.

At 6:30 p.m. on the 200 Block of Winding Creek in Olympic Valley, a male suspect hit a victim in the face tree times. The victim desired prosecution.

At 7:45 p.m. on the 8400 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, two intoxicated subjects in a dating relationship started arguing. The female choked the male and caused a nosebleed. The male wants to drop all of the charges. No arrest was made.

May 10

At 9:45 a.m. on the 300 Block of West Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect entered a condo, slept in the bed and brushed his or her teeth in the bathroom, leaving a tube of toothpaste behind.

At 10:30 a.m. on Highway 28 at National Avenue in Tahoe Vista, a subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Placer County. The subject was also cited for hitchhiking in the roadway.

At 4:45 p.m. on the 1100 Block of River Road in Tahoe City, an unknown male suspect exposed his lower half to a female roller skater.

May 11

At 1 a.m. on the 200 Block of Chipmunk Street in Kings Beach, a female was arrested for domestic violence after scratching her boyfriend in the face.

At 2 a.m. on Highway 28 at Estates Drive in Tahoe Vista, an intoxicated female was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and punching the deputy in the mouth as he approached her. She ended up with three felony charges and one misdemeanor.

May 12

At 6 p.m. in Truckee, a lost mountain biker called 911 for help. A train picked him up and brought him back to safety in Truckee.

May 13

At 12:45 a.m. on Highway 28 at Secline Street in Kings Beach, a male subject was found stumbling in the roadway. He was taken into protective custody for public intoxication.

At 10:25 a.m. on the 8500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, a male subject became upset and punched a Redbox kiosk, shattering the screen. The suspect was indentified and vandalism charges will be filed.

May 14

At 6:15 p.m. on the 200 Block of Beaver Street in Kings Beach, a female was arrested for suspicion of DUI and was turned over to Highway Patrol.

At 7:30 p.m. on the 8300 Block of Loch Levon Avenue in Kings Beach, a female was taken into protective custody for drunk in public after getting into a verbal argument with her boyfriend.

At 9:30 p.m. on the 8400 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect threw fireworks into a local eatery while open for business. No one was injured.

May 15

At 12:15 a.m. on Minnow Avenue at Chipmunk Street in Kings Beach, after witnessing a male driver over the curb, the subject was pulled over and subsequently turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.

At 9:15 p.m. on the 300 Block of Chris Way in Homewood, adult male subject was listed as a missing person by family members. The subject was determined to be rafting with friends in Colorado.

May 16

A male subject was arrested at a job site for an outstanding warrant. The subject was determined to be the brother of the actual warrant suspect. The real suspect turned himself in at Placer County Sheriff’s Office once he heard his brother was arrested.

May 18

At 9 a.m. on the 8700 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect broke the front window of a business.

May 19

At 4 a.m. on Highway 28 at Pino Grande Avenue in Tahoe Vista, a female was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspicion of DUI.

At 8 p.m. on West Lake Boulevard at Meadow Road in Homewood, an unknown suspect removed two kayaks from a private beach.

May 20

On Highway 28 at Agatam East Avenue in Tahoe Vista, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.

May 22

At 6:30 a.m. on the 10000 Block of Thelin Drive in Truckee, possible known suspect took victim’s iPod from the residence.

May 23

At 8:45 p.m. on the 3000 Block of Lake Forest Road in Tahoe City, a roommate broke sliding glass door and homeowner wants to press vandalism charges.

May 24

At 3:30 p.m. on the 900 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, officers took a report for identity theft. Unknown suspect has been using victim’s Social Security number since 1991.

May 25

At 2 a.m. on Ponderosa Drive in Truckee, a female was arrested on an outstanding warrant. She also was charged with possession of hypodermic needles.

At 9 a.m. on the 5000 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay, an unknown suspect stole victim’s unsecured canoe from the beach.

May 27

At 10:30 a.m. on the 1800 Block of West Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, deputies responded to a disturbance wherein one party hit the other party on the shoulder because he promised to take her kayaking but he didn’t.

May 31

At 5 p.m. on the 2200 Block of River Road in Tahoe City, a male subject was arrested on burglary charges. The subject was found in a hotel room without paying.
