North Tahoe crime logs, Oct. 1-31
Below are select incidents from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office press log for Oct. 1-31.
October 3
• Sometime overnight on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, an unknown suspect entered a locked business and removed cash.
• At 3 p.m. on the 3100 Block of Aspen Grove at Northstar, an unknown suspect stole $5,000 worth of ski equipment sometime in the past four months.
• At 8:30 p.m. on the railroad tracks on Emigrant Gap, four subjects were arrested for illegally occupying a rail car.
October 4
• At 1:30 p.m. at the Tahoe City Post Office, an unknown suspect allegedly stole a box of new checks from victim’s PO Box.
• At 2 p.m. on Highway 28 at Fabian Way in Tahoe City, a male subject was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
October 5
• At 11 a.m. on the 1000 Block of Commonwealth Drive in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect removed tires off of two boat trailers. There are two different victims.
• At 6 p.m. on Highway 28 at Ridgewood Drive in Carnelian Bay, a male subject was arrested for public intoxication after a deputy discovered him stumbling in the roadway.
• At 7 p.m. on the 8600 Block of Cutthroat Avenue in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect entered victim’s residence and stole $2,000 in cash.
• At 9 p.m. on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, an unknown suspect removed victim’s purse out of her unsecured vehicle.
October 6
• At midnight on Highway 28 at Star Harbor in Tahoe City, a male subject was arrested for suspicion of DUI.
• At 1:15 p.m. on the 300 Block of Grouse Drive in Homewood, a report was taken for agency assist with Calfire. A male subject was arrested for having an illegal burn.
October 7
• At 8:45 a.m. on the 8300 Block of Speckled Street in Kings Beach, a female was taken into protective custody due to her high level of intoxication. She was transported to the hospital for medical clearance and was released when she sobered up.
• At 1 a.m. on the 3100 Block of Aspen Grove at Northstar, an unknown suspect stole $3,600 in ski equipment sometime in the past five months.
• At 7:30 p.m. on the 2000 Block of Polaris Road in Tahoe City, a victim’s purse was stolen during sporting event.
• At 9:45 p.m. on the 6800 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe Vista, an unknown female suspect ordered $65 in food and skipped out on the bill.
October 9
• At 10:30 a.m. on the 300 Block of Grove Street in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect vandalized the turf by doing donuts on public property.
October 10
• At 2:30 p.m. on the 3100 Block of Aspen Grove at Northstar, an unknown suspect stole more than $7,000 worth of ski gear from victim’s locker sometime during the past few months.
October 12
• At 1:45 a.m. on Highway 28 at Lake Forest Drive in Tahoe City, a male subject was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
• At 2:10 a.m. on Highway 28 at Dollar Hill Drive in Tahoe City, a female subject was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
October 14
• At 12:25 p.m. on the 8600 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, a female subject was cited for selling alcohol to a minor during a sting operation.
• At 4 p.m. on the 3000 Block of River in Olympic Valley, a minor decoy asked an adult male to purchase alcohol for him during a sting operation. The male subject was cited and released for furnishing alcohol to a minor.
• At 6:15 p.m. on the 3200 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a minor decoy asked an adult male to purchase alcohol for him during a sting operation. The male subject was cited and released for furnishing alcohol to a minor.
• At 6:15 p.m. on the 900 Block of Holly Road in Tahoe City, a male subject was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
October 17
• At 1:30 p.m. on the 300 Block of Lake Avenue in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect has been leaving harassing and threatening text messages to victim.
October 18
• At 12:15 a.m. on the 400 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a male subject was arrested for public intoxication after a deputy witnessed the male “assaulting” a Halloween decoration.
• At 11:20 a.m. on the 1300 Block of Snowflower Lane in Tahoe City, a male subject was arrested due to his level of intoxication.
• At 2:45 p.m. on the 6000 Block of McKinney in Homewood, an unknown suspect stole victim’s firewood from her yard. The theft occurred sometime in the past month.
• At 9:30 p.m. on the 8400 Block of Trout Avenue in Kings Beach, an incident report was taken for a verbal argument between two females. One female was challenged by the other to a physical fight, but she declined and left the scene.
October 22
• At 12:05 a.m. on Highway 28 at Coon in Kings Beach, a female was arrested for DUI.
• At 12:45 a.m. on the 5000 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay, a female was arrested for outstanding warrants. More than one pound of marijuana was found in the vehicle; charges are pending.
• At 12:30 p.m. on the 3000 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect stole construction materials from a business sometime over the weekend. There was $700 in loss.
• At 5:45 p.m. on the 6000 Block of McKinney in Homewood, an unknown suspect stole a flat screen TV from victim’s residence back in September.
October 23
• At 11 p.m. on Brook at Fox Street in Kings Beach, a subject was turned over to CHP for suspected DUI.
October 24
• At 6:20 a.m. on the 900 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown male suspect exposed his genitals to a female while she was working.
October 25
• At 10 a.m. on the 2900 Block of Lake Forest in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect from possibly a foreign country swindled a local business owner out of thousands of dollars by placing fake orders for materials.
• At 12:30 p.m. on the 500 Block of Granite Road in Carnelian Bay, an unknown suspect stole two residential furnaces from a house under construction.
October 27
• At 3 p.m. at Shirley Canyon in Olympic Valley, report was taken for two lost hikers. Hikers were located by the Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue Team and brought back to safety uninjured.
October 28
• At 3 a.m. on Christy at Sandy Way in Olympic Valley, a male subject was arrested for DUI and possession of suspected cocaine after officers received a citizen report of a drunk driver in the area.
October 29
• At 5 a.m. on the 8700 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect attempted to break into a business unsuccessfully.
