North Tahoe girls hitting their stride

The North Tahoe High girls soccer team defeated visiting Fernley 4-0 in a Northern 3A league contest on Saturday.

The Lakers improved to 4-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in league play.

Sage Clark and Jenna Burnside provided all the offense the Lakers needed, scoring two goals apiece, said Hans Paladini, first-year head coach at North Tahoe.

Paladini said he was pleased with the effort and performance his team displayed in the shutout. And after playing to a 3-3 tie against rival Truckee last week, he said his team appears to be hitting its stride.

“They played probably the best soccer they’ve played this season,” Paladini said of Saturday’s win.

“We’ve started to really come along offensively.”
