North Tahoe students cap high school careers in style

TAHOE CITY, Calif. and#8212; Tuesday’s North Tahoe High School graduation was a scene of hoots and hollers, sandals and shades, decorated pine cones and buckets of wind-blown white roses as grads and parents celebrated with speeches and a volley of tossing caps.

During the ceremony, North Tahoeand#8217;s 11 valedictorians and one salutatorian were honored, as well as retiring teacher Warren Mills. Graduates were also treated to a speech by Tahoe City native Shannon Bahrke, who won a bronze medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics in womenand#8217;s moguls.
