North Tahoe, Truckee volleyball continue to roll
The North Tahoe High volleyball team cruised to a win over Mineral County (Hawthorne) in three games, 25-6, 25-13, 25-10, on Saturday.
The Lakers are now 6-2 in the Northern 2A and 17-7 overall.
North Tahoe senior Laura Hansen tallied eight kills, six service aces and three blocks. Junior Kayla Baumgardner had six kills, one ace and one block and Haley Burmer had five kills, one ace and one block.
Junior setter Kelly Hester posted 22 kills.
The Truckee High volleyball team improved to 10-0 in the Northern 3A with wins in straight games at Lowry and Spring Creek on Friday and Saturday.
Truckee (27-3 overall) defeated Lowry 25-11, 25-16, 25-17, and Spring Creek 25-12, 25-20, 25-13.
Against Spring Creek, Truckee senior Megan Murphy posted 20 assists and one service ace. Junior Callan Finney had seven kills and five aces, senior Alexa Terrell had four kills, six blocks and two aces and junior Nikki Schneider had seven kills.
Against Lowry, Murphy collected 18 assists and one ace. Finney had nine kills and four aces, Melanie Lashbrook had five kills, one block and one ace, and Terrell and Schneider each had four kills.
North Tahoe plays a non-league match at Truckee on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
