Obituary: Donald Roy Johnson

Donald Roy Johnson, 88, of Incline Village, NV died peacefully at home on February 11, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marcelline Anne Johnson (Francesconi), children Rick (Judi), Andrea (Al), and Kristifer (Lanee). He is loved and remembered by his brother Gordon (Earlene) and grandchildren, Lynsey (Dan), Andrew, Ashleigh (Michael), Jordan, Jamie and Bradley. He was blessed with two great grandchildren, Hazel and Ingrid with one on the way, Maddox.

Don was born in San Francisco, CA to Helen Armstrong and Roy Johnson in 1928 and soon moved to Fresno, CA where he graduated from Fresno High School. Off to college, he joined the Navy and returned four years later to marry his college sweetheart and begin both his family and career. Over the next 60 years Don worked in banking and real estate where he developed many long-lasting relationships.

Don loved the outdoors and many of you met him either walking through the neighborhood or at the Rec Center where he loved to swim. He attended as many of his kids and grandkids sporting events as possible and was a supportive voice win or lose. He was a long-time member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic church.

A Celebration of Life will be held June 24th at Noon, followed by a gathering with friends and family in the downstairs hall till 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Francis of Assisi General Fund, 701 Mt. Rose Highway, Incline Village, NV 89451
