Eleanor “Ellie” Hill Shattuck

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Ellie’s passing. Ellie was born on May 7, 1970 in Yuba City, CA. She attended local schools and graduated from Yuba City Union High School in 1988 and attended Questa College in San Luis Obispo. She moved to Tahoe City and worked as a sales manager for Tahoe Tree Company before finding the love of her life, David Shattuck. They were married on August 20, 2005. They moved to Sacramento where Ellie resided till her death on February 10, 2017. Ellie brought into this world her most precious and treasured gift, son, William Thomas Shattuck on June 17, 2006.

Having been born and raised in rural Sutter County, Ellie became a gifted gardener and loved the out of doors. She and Dave would regularly plant and nurture a vegetable garden large enough to feed five families. She loved giving fresh vegetables to friends and neighbors along with a dozen of her chickens’ newly laid eggs.

Ellie is survived by her husband David and son William, her parents Tom and Marge Hill of Live Oak, CA, her brother Justin (Sara) of Live Oak and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A private family service has been held.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ellie’s memory may be made to The Bradshaw Christian School – Shattuck Memorial Fund – 9571 Calvine Road. Sacramento, CA 95829 or to your favorite charity.
