Karen Killips Littlefield

9-19-1968 – 10-26-2016

Karen passed away on Wednesday October 26, 2016 after a 2-year battle with cancer. Karen loved life to the fullest! Loved Donner Lake, all the 4th of July festivities at West End Beach, going to the train tunnels at 4:30 am, just to watch the sunrise and getting any sunrays that were possible. Loved paddle boarding, mountain biking, speed skating and hiking all the trails around the Truckee-Tahoe area, she could not get enough! Also loved adventures like going to San Francisco, Bermuda, Costa Rica and Hawaii. Karen worked at Bell Starr’s Restaurant at Donner Summit in the early days, then at The Gap in Folsom.

Karen loved children, especially the ones on the Triad Racing Speed Skating Team from Citrus Heights. She loved watching them practice, getting better and faster with each meet. She was a pied piper with them all!

Karen is survived by her husband and best friend of 32 years Christopher Littlefield from Donner Lake/Citrus Heights, her mother Peggy Michel (Art) from Truckee, father Jerry Killips (Debbie) from Oregon, sisters Christine Killips Meuser (Brian) and Kathy Killips, nephews Kyler & Cayden, niece Kylee from Citrus Heights and grandmother Wanda Brown from Gardnerville, Nevada, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins,

Karen is loved and will be missed by many. A celebration of life will be held at Fair Oaks Park on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at noon.
