MATHEWS, William G. “Willis” “Bill”

Our Favorite Uncle Bill and Best Brother ever passed away on 10/24/14. Uncle served in the Air Force, served as a valuable member of the Tahoe City Volunteer Fire Department, and also was a main fixture at the produce section at Lucky’s Tahoe City for many years. He spent his retirement years in his beautiful home close to family. He was the most loving, giving, selfless, sweetheart of a man and greatly respected and loved by all. Uncle is survived by his sister Marsha Sasek, favorite niece Shelley Feinga (Tika), great nephews Salesi Maumau, Maika Maumau, Talanoa Feinga (Melissa), great-great nephew Noa, the Smotherman family, and many special friends. Uncle is preceded in death by his parents William and Frances Mathews, and stepmother Betty Mathews. A Celebration of Life will be held in Spring 2015 and friends and family will be notified. A special thank you to UC Davis Doctors Bias, Daly, Fragoso, Giordano, and Li. Donations may be made at UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center at on behalf of William Mathews for Dr. Tina Li’s lung cancer research.
