Buzz (Arthur R Johnson Jr.) was born in 1946 in Southern California and died in Truckee of Parkinson’s Disease, on April 24, 2023. He was raised and went to school in Whittier CA. After College in Pasadena, CA, he completed 4 years in the Air Force as a Radar Specialist. He followed in his Grandfathers footsteps and became a Master Contractor. Buzz’s Mom and Dad, both educators, moved to Sacramento. Buzz moved to Truckee, Lake Tahoe Area shortly thereafter to follow his passion of building beautiful customs homes. He ultimately became a Town of Truckee Building Inspector and retired after 20 years. Buzz met his wife Maribess in church when they were 12 years old. That attraction and love that they shared as children continued through the rest of their lives. Buzz is known for his loyalty, honesty kindness and gentleness, his passion for helping others and above all the love of his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Maribess his children Keri, Mark Selcon, and David (Nicky)Selcon, grandsons Ben and Jake Selcon, sister Faye (Lyman Gandy) and brother Jim (Carolyn). He also considered Pete’s Camp, San Felipe, BC his second home. He will be missed my many of his friends there, especially his adopted family; Maria Joel, Josue, Sarai and David Salvador-Martinez. He was grateful for his life and multiple family adventures. Buzz had a deep faith and belief in God and always cherished his time with his family and friends as a gift. We give thanks to Brenda, Ronnie and Autumn for their kind, loving and supportive care given to Buzz and his family during this destructive illness.
