Obituary: Donna Mae Macey

Jan. 23 1930- Sept. 25 2015

Donna was born to Walter and Golda Domercq in Culver City Calif, their only child. A early childhood accident gave challenges that formed a character of strength. She became a Jobs daughter Queen and was attending UCLA when she married Jack Macey the boy next door in 1950 at the age of 20.

After raising 5 kids in southern Calif. The Family moved to their Homewood cabin in 1973. In Homewood they had a second life, building homes and seeing the Joy of marriages and the birth of 6 grand children and 7 great grandchildren.

Mom was a prolific cook, backed the best apple pies and the cookie jar was always full. In 1999 Donna and Jack became snowbirds traveling to Tucson Arizona. Returning every spring to the lake in the sky and their home in the woods.

The last years of Donna’s life were filled with more challenges, Donna met them all and showed us the meaning of life with endurance and a eternal capacity to listen, love and laugh.

There will be a memorial for our miracle mom at her Homewood home on Saturday October 24 at 12 noon.
